 Tin Oo Biography

Born in 1957 in Yangon, Myanmar. He started drawing and painting since childhood.

Education

He studied art at State School of Fine Art in Yangon for evening classes since 1975.

He studied under four outstanding artists, U Thein Han, U Lun Gywe, U Ko Shwe Oung Thame and U Win Pe Myint (WPM). He graduated from Arts and Science University of Yangon in 1986.

1987 - 1991: Tin Oo started to work as a Primer Assistant Teacher at the State Primary School No.3 Ahlone Township, Yangon

1992 - 1996: He changed work as Assistant Research Officer (Painting and Sculpture) at Fine Art Department, Culture Ministery.

1997: Time Oo became the Principle of State School of Fine Art, Yangon. Also became a member of New Treasure Art Gallery.

1998: Tin Oo Quit from his post of Principle at The State School of Fine Art and devoted himself as a full time artist.

2002: Tin Oo founded his own gallery Acacia in Ancient City of Bagan, Myanmar.

1987: First art exhibition “Nwei Oo Art Exhibition at the Art Association Myanmar Bogyoke Market, Yangon

1992: Three of Tin Oo’s paintings were sown at Sough Korea at the Tejhon Expo Exhibition and then collected by Cooperative Ministry.

1993: One of his paintings were collected by National Museum in Yangon

1995: The Archaeological Museum of Bagan, Ministry of Culture collected two of his paintings
